◈ About
Solarpunk Solutions designs and installs solar, battery, and off-grid energy systems for homes across Western North Carolina. Based in Weaverville, serving Buncombe and surrounding counties.
Principles
We show every number that goes into your estimate. If solar doesn't pay off at your address, we say so and tell you to wait.
Tier-one N-type panels, GSL Energy LiFePO4 storage, and Solara Power hybrid inverters. We don't substitute components to inflate margins.
Real engineers. Real installers. Real phones answered by real people — no chat-bot phone trees, no offshore call centers.
We engineer for outages, weather, and the next 25 years — not just the first sunny month after install.
◈ Who runs this
Founder
Vance founded Solarpunk Solutions out of Weaverville, North Carolina, building the company around the belief that a working home solar array is a piece of considered infrastructure — not a sales pitch. He runs design and installation, and he's the one on the racking with the rake.
Partner · EVP, Business Operations
Michael runs business operations and customer relations. He also operates Crooked Creek Organics, a regenerative farming operation grounded in the same philosophy: soil, sun, food, and the freedom to power your own land.
Solarpunk exists because power bills across our region keep climbing, and most solar companies are too busy upselling 30-panel systems to people who need twelve. We slow down and look at the actual numbers.
Through direct relationships with our equipment manufacturers — GSL Energy on the battery side, Solara Power on inverters, and tier-one N-type panels — our equipment cost runs below what the regional installers can quote. We pass that on to homeowners. We also tell people when solar is the wrong call: north-facing roof, heavy shade, planning to move in two years. The fastest way to lose a referral is to sell someone a system that doesn't pay off.
Every install ships with monitoring, so you see exactly what your system is producing in real time. Every install carries a written workmanship warranty in addition to the manufacturers' warranties.
